Virus Alerts
Information Resources (IR) has created a new technical support resource for dealing with malicious e-mail that we would like campus computer users to begin to use immediately.
Procedure:
- If you receive an e-mail that you believe contains malicious content (attachments, links, etc.) and you wish to forward it on to the Help Desk for any reason, please forward the e-mail to virus@bellevuecollege.edu, not to the Help Desk account. This new address is listed in the Global Address Book as "Virus Infections".
- Once you have forwarded such an e-mail, please delete the original from your own mailbox and empty your deleted items folder.
-
In addition to forwarding suspect e-mail, please create a task in Request Center stating that you have sent the e-mail to the virus e-mail box, explaining why you suspect it is malicious.
As a service to our BC community and to help you protect your home computer(s),
we are providing you with weblinks to virus removal tools and security alerts
provided by commercial antivirus software companies. These removal tools are not intended
for use on any campus computer. The inclusion of software name brands in this page does not imply
endorsement by BC. BC is not responsible for damages caused by the use of any tools linked to this site.
